Dear Holidays,

I am writing to you now on behalf of the countless of other students that I represent to thank you for being so kind as just to exist. Society as we know it would be impossible without you, in my paradigm of society at least.

Thank you for being our saving grace from the misery that is to wake up early for school and attending our classes. Thank you for giving us that much-needed break from our everyday monotonous routine; and a time where we can finally catch up on our much-needed sleep. Thank you for being that breather we all need to take time off with family and friends. Thank you for being that time of year when we don’t have to worry about meeting deadlines. Thank you for making life a little more bearable in those ways.

Also, thank you for being the perfect time for us to catch up on our weaker topics, being the life saver you are to help us to study on our own before our exams. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Until the next time I write to you, let this be my plea, just as you have just started for me: help me to use you well; to use you wisely so that I may do all that I wish to do. Let me spend you wisely, and that I may not spend you on useless things.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

An ever grateful soul and student, Ka Wai
